8. HIPAA Boundary in Clinical Education

DBI is an educational institution and is generally not a HIPAA-covered entity.

Students in clinical placements may access Protected Health Information (PHI) at clinical sites. In such cases:

Students must comply with site-specific confidentiality requirements

DBI does not maintain patient medical records

DBI retains only academic and evaluation records related to clinical performance.
